Over 30 firefighters descended on Raynes Park last night after a huge fire gutted a terraced house.
The fire, in Bronson Road, destroyed a loft conversion and half of the first floor of the house.
Six fire engines and 35 firefighters were called to the blaze at 9.20pm, and managed to bring the fire under control at 11.50pm.
A spokesman from Kingston fire station said originally there were concerns that someone was in the house, but luckily the occupant had left before the fire brigade arrived. There were no reports of injuries.
Fire crews from Wimbledon, Mitcham, Kingston, Norbury and Tooting all attended.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
