A Bexleyheath man wants motorcyclists to wear the correct safety gear following his nasty crash.
Daniel Wall, 24, of Mayplace Road East, was travelling from Crayford to Bluewater on his Yamaha YZF-R6 at about 8pm last Thursday (May 19).
He attempted to overtake a black vehicle in front of him in Bourne Road, Bexley, but when he reached its front bumper, the car allegedly veered towards him.

Mr Wall’s reaction was to move away but as he was in “shock”, he accelerated to move left and ended up hitting the kerb.
The local photographer told News Shopper: “I want to make other motorcyclists aware about wearing the correct safety gear when riding.
“I was wearing padded kevlar trousers which perfectly protected my legs, a leather jacket and a helmet. If I didn’t have a helmet, I wouldn’t be alive.

“I was unconscious for about 15 minutes and woke up on the floor. I was taken to Royal London Hospital who were incredible for me.
“I believe I hit my head and shoulder on a pole, and my collision speed was between 40-50mph.”
Mr Wall suffered lacerations to his left kidney, spleen and left arm - he also shattered his left scapula and has severe bruising and grazing on his left shoulder.
He spent three days in hospital and was on high doses of morphine, but is now currently taking paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine.
Motorcycle accidents are something that Mr Wall is far too familiar with after his brother was left partially brain damaged and blind in one eye seven years ago.
He said: “My brother was involved in a serious motorcycle crash when he wasn’t wearing a helmet.
“He was messing around with friends in a derelict area when he collided into someone head-first at an impact speed of 40mph.

“He’s now partially brain damaged and blind in one eye, and was in a coma for a few days, as well.
“His experience has got me taking extra care, in terms of what I wear, when I ride.”
