Lightning struck a plane on its descent into Heathrow last night, as a storm raged across the capital.
Twitter user @version3point1 managed to capture the moment as the plane flew toward the airport on Wednesday evening.

From yesterday: Hail, thunder and lightning strike in Wandsworth
From Tuesday: Teddington or Sleddington? SNOW falls in the borough in April
A spokesman for British Airways said lightning strikes were fairly common, and planes were designed to cope with them, but that the jet would be checked over before its next flight.
