THEATRE – The Wars of the Roses at The Rose Theatre, Kingston

The theatre’s mightily impressive season of three of Shakespeare’s historical plays, all set during the War of the Roses and all directed by theatre god Sir Trevor Nunn, continues. This week marks the start of Edward IV’s run with an incredible cast that includes Joely Richardson and Rufus Hound. GARDENING – Epsom Garden Society Autumn Show at St Martin’s Junior School on Saturday

Marvel in the results of more than 70 classes of competition from flowers to fruit and vegetables to preserves and food. There’s something for the youngsters and non-members including the longest runner bean contest as well as a plant sale, raffle and homemade teas.

FAMILY – Epsom and Ewell Borough Family Fun Day at Hook Road Arena from 12.30pm to 4.30pm on Sunday

The rotary clubs of Epsom and Ewell’s fun day will include a market street, Punch and Judy, a fun fair, family games and displays. Programmes cost £2 in advance or £4 at the gate. Under 12s go free.
