Kingston police will deliver 200 presents to children in care following a successful charity appeal.
The Metropolitan Police Commissioner's 2014 Christmas Tree campaign saw police team up with Kingston First, Kingston Job Centre Plus and the Growbaby charity.
Staff at the Job Centre Plus donated 21 presents after holding a charity event, while members of the public collected tagged ribbons from the 'Give a Gift' Christmas tree in The Rose Theatre, before emailing police details of which child, aged three to 17, to buy for.
Borough Commander, Chief Superintendent Glenn Tunstall, said: “All of those involved and all that have so generously donated should be very proud of themselves.”
