Tolworth Broadway could be in line for yet another makeover including an extra pedestrian crossing.
Kingston Tories have proposed a slew of changes to the £3.1m greenway scheme, including "enhanced traffic smoothing measures" and signs reminding motorists not to make u-turns.
Conservative Alexandra councillor Richard Hudson said: "If you put a proper crossing there, with traffic lights, that costs tens of thousands of pounds.
"There's a Belisha beacon-type solution which may be an option."
Adding brighter paint or zig-zag markings to the current raised crossings could be on the cards, he said.
But Coun Hudson added: "I was partly wrong - the scheme has worked better than I thought it was going to."
Disability campaigner Adam Lotun raised concerns about disabled access on the greenway last year, including crossing points.
At the time Mr Lotun, who uses a wheelchair, said: "For me the only way to get across is the two ends. There is no way I will use an unmanned crossing."
