A South West Trains train has hit a tree at Tolworth, the operator has said.

The train, from London Waterloo, was bound for Chessington South.

The crash happened just before 1pm.

A tree became lodged under the train's wheels but was cleared by a maintenance crew.

The crew deemed the train fit to travel on to Chessington.

Two trees on the tracks have been cleared and the line has reopened.

A South West Trains spokeswoman said no injuries were reported.
