Canadian five-piece Trigger Effect will be storming into Kingston next month for a gig at the Fighting Cocks in Old London Road.

Hitherto unknown on these shores, the Montreal-based group have been touring virtually non-stop since forming in the early 2000s, peddling their brand of thunderous punk rock across the world.

Their appearance in Kingston will be the first date of a week-long UK tour, as the band celebrates the release on Monday of their new album What’s Left To Eliminate? – the first Trigger Effect record to be launched in Britain.

Back home, the group have previously released two full length albums, two EPs and played more than 600 live gigs.

Drawing influence from other punk giants such as Black Flag, Zeke, and Refused, Trigger Effect are singer Nick Babeu, guitarists Pat Bennett and Jordan Brown, bassist Sergio De Silva and drummer Mike Niro.

Support comes in the form of fellow hardcore punk outfits Smoking Hearts, Blasted and Concave.
