CCTV to be scoured in Oceana Kingston nightclub stabbing

Oceana nightclub Kingston has issued a statement after yesterday's fatal stabbing.

Jamie Sanderson, 20, from Southall in West London, was stabbed to death at the Kingston nightclub in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is still in custody at a south London police station.

In a statement posted on its website the club said: "Oceana can confirm that an incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday 25th October, during this incident a young male tragically passed away while on route to hospital.

"Oceana's security team apprehended a male alleged to be involved in the incident and handed him to the police.

"The venue, which is the UK's busiest nightclub, is equipped with 90 CCTV cameras and has recently installed an ID capture scanning system, is working closely and will continue to work closely with the police to bring those involved to justice.

"All information recorded by both systems has been shared with the police.

"The thoughts of everyone at Oceana are with the families of those involved at this time."
