Give your iPad 2 or 3 style, protection and the functionality of a laptop/PC with the STK Bluetooth Keyboard Case.

With its black leather finish and white stitching, the case certainly has a high-quality look to it.

The material is also very strong and firm, offering high levels of protection for your Apple tablet when you’re on the move.

Of course many iPad cases offer style and protection so what really stands this one out from the crowd is its functionality.

The detachable Bluetooth keyboard allows you to transform your device within seconds.

Pair the keyboard up with your tablet and you can use it is a netbook or laptop on your knees, or a desktop computer on a hard surface.

The keyboard works great and, especially at times when you have a lot of typing to do, is much easier to use than the iPad’s on-screen touch keyboard.

Functions such as playing music or returning to your home screen are easily performed using different buttons, You also get all the functionality of a traditional keyboard, with tasks such as cutting, copying and pasting carried out in the usual way. It’s feels very natural and is more intuitive than using the iPad’s own keyboard.

The keyboard is of course wireless and should only rarely need charging using the supplied USB cable. The user guide boasts of 120 hours of continuous use when the keyboard is fully charged. I haven’t got anywhere near to checking the accuracy of this but I certainly haven’t needed to recharge it after what I would estimate to be about 20 hours of use so far.

Surrey Comet: STK Bluetooth Keyboard Case For iPad 2 / 3

When I’m at home and have no need for the keyboard I think I’m likely to stick with my standard iPad case. With or without the keyboard attached, the STK case feels too heavy and unwieldy in my hand when I just want to use my iPad for gaming or browsing the web. My basic cover is much lighter and easier to fold back.

Where the STK case comes into own and where I’m sure it will get the nod over my usual case is when I’m out and about, If I need to use my iPad for work purposes in the office or if I’m going on a long train journey and need a proper keyboard for some typing, this is when I’ll really appreciate the STK’s strengths.

The STK is also far more robust than my standard cover so I’d be more confident of it protecting my tablet from dust and scratches.

At a touch under £50 the STK isn’t the cheapest iPad case available but with the quality of its build and the inclusion of that Bluetooth keyboard it offers great value for money.
