If you want to get a slice of the action playing one of the weirdest games of the year, use your loaf and check out I Am Bread.

Bossa Studios, maker (or perhaps that should be baker) of Surgeon Simulator, has just given the game a full Steam release for PC after a spell in the early access oven during which it’s been getting rave reviews.

The physics-based adventure tests players’ skill and dexterity as they guide a humble but heroic slice of bread on its journey to become toast.

The game’s blurb says: “Take the intrepid, crumby adventurer on a journey from his natural confines of the kitchen, through the home of an unsuspecting owner and into the outside world. This bread will be boldly going where no other bread has gone before.”

It certainly sounds intriguing so if you’re looking for something a bit different to play follow the trail of breadcrumbs to Steam where you’ll find the game to download for £9.99, with a 25 per cent discount currently in place.

An iOS version is expected in the summer, and it looks like the kind of thing that will be great with touch controls.
