There's more to a festival than just the music. The atmosphere at the site, the food and organisers have listened to suggestions from fans to make this the best Pump Festival yet.

Additions to the food on offer will include jacket potatoes served on an open-topped double decker bus, ice cream served from traditional cycles and barista coffee served from a converted Land Rover Defender. The Steeple Ashton Village Shop - a local community cooperative - will provide campers’ needs from toothpaste to Wiltshire ham. A milkman calls daily.

New craft stalls include the White Horse Pottery, hand-stitched leather work, the Wiltshire Bee Centre and Wiltshire Spinners and Weavers.

The children’s arena will now be fully in view, with a terrific programme of participatory activities to give the festival a great energy. Top folk act Megson, who will also be appearing on one of the main stages with their show for grown-ups, will play a special Family Folk Show "for big and little music connoisseurs".

This year's music line-up combines the usual Pump mix of something for everyone. Treacherous Orchestra are rooted in traditional tunes but bring in elements of jazz, rock and electronica. False Lights are another band currently tearing up the rules, with a dynamic approach to old songs owing more to Radiohead than Fairport Convention. The unique Spooky Men's Chorale, with their surreal humour and close harmony singing, have to be seen and heard to be believed. Nostalgia fans will want to see Barbara Dickson, star of TV, films and the West End stage return to her folk music roots, and The Strawbs, one of the first folk rock bands. Lovers of more traditional approaches will be able to enjoy Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick, survivors from the 50's / 60's folk revival. Party animals will love Edward ll, Roving Crows, and Mad Dog Mcrea. And, of course, there will be the very special opportunity to be on a unique Show of Hands CD, available only to Festival-goers, and credited as a backing singer.
