The music of British jazz legend Tubby Hayes will be celebrated by the Simon Spillett Quartet at the Bull's Head later this month.

Spillett is recognised as one of the most distinctive, hard swinging and exciting saxophonists on the UK jazz scene.

He has appeared at major venues and festivals across the UK and has broadcasted with his band on BBC Radio 3.

Spillett has also won several awards for his music, including the tenor saxophone category of the British Jazz Awards in 2011, Jazz Journal magazine's critics' choice CD of the year in 2009 and rising star at the BBC jazz awards in 2007.

He appears at the Bull's Head with his quartet, comprising some of the most esteemed British jazz royalty, including pianist John Critchinson, bassist Alec Dankworth and drummer Clark Tracey.
