John Peel’s last ever Festive 50 included a song which the DJ often admitted reduced him to tears – and now the man behind that song is about to perform in Croydon almost exactly a decade since Peel’s untimely death.
Ian Prowse was the frontman of indie bands Amsterdam and Pele in the late 90s and early noughties, and known for the Peel favourite Does the Train Stop on Merseyside.
His latest single Lest We Forget is released the day after the Croydon show and commemorates the 100 year anniversary of the Battle of Ypres.
