A magical production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland will be beamed live from the Royal Opera House to cinemas around Europe.

Cinemagoers have the choice of watching the live screening at either Leatherhead Theatre or Epsom's Odeon.

Christopher Wheeldon’s ballet Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland arrived on stage in 2011 and was the Royal Ballet’s first full-length new work since 1995. It is based on Lewis Carroll’s children’s classic.

The ballet starts with a garden party where Alice is surprised to see her parents' friend Lewis Carroll transform into a white rabbit and she follows him down a rabbit hole.

She encounters the Queen of Hearts, dancing playing cards, a caterpillar, a tap-dancing Mad Hatter and a charming Knave of Hearts.

The darker undercurrents of Lewis Carroll’s story are captured with a nightmarish kitchen, an eery Cheshire Cat and an unhinged tea party.
