  • "Yet another event going on at Selhurst Park that the residents of Holmesdale Road are not told about.
I'm getting fed up reading about events happening across the road in the press or on Social Media.
We residents are poorly informed regarding CPFC. I didnt find out about saturdays 12:30 kick off until one of the Stewards knocked on our door at about 11am to inform us there is a football match on today and we would have to move our car.
Talking about that match, we had to put up with Cardiff City fans urinating in our gardens and throwing beer cans everywhere, not forgetting the fight they started in the pub resulting in the pub being closed and merry hell breaking out.
I hate the lack of communication between the club and the residents whose lives this impacts on.
How do you explain to your 5 yr old daughter, what has happened after she is looking out of the window weatching the horses only to see some Cardiff City fans slap out their tackle and piddle in the gardens.
The police were as much use as a chocolate teapot and did nothing to curb this behaviour, infact it looked like they turned a blind eye.
Atleast the jumped the coaches and confiscated alcohol but that was AFTER the events above and was clearly too little too late!"

Beer, music and sport planned for Crystal Palace Beer Festival

Selhurst Park will host the beer festival on May 26 Selhurst Park will host the beer festival on May 26

Football, music and beer go naturally together and will be on offer during a special event at Crystal Palace FC.

And organisers of the second annual CPFC Beer Festival have promised a ready supply of all three for the event, on May 26.

The CAMRA-backed festival, held in the Holmesdale Road Stand, will bring together a vast array of ciders and ales from across the UK, according to a spokesman.

More than 1,200 people attended last year's inaugural event and demand for tickets for this year's festival has been unprecedented, said a spokesman.

"Once again, we have been overwhelmed by the response," said Crystal palace FC CEO, Phil Alexander.

"News of the festival has spread to the brewing industry and we have had coverage from trade as well as national publications.

"I urge those that haven't yet bought tickets to do so soon."

Actor and Eagles fan, Neil Morrissey, will open the festival in the Palace Ale Bar.

The renamed bar will be offering 100 ales and 20 ciders to try during the afternoon and early evening.

Also on the menu is live music and pub grub, as well as live sport on screens throughout the bars and concourses.

The Crystal Girls will also be on hand to provide some smooth moves.

There will also be one or two surprises and some very special guests.

Tickets, costing £6, including a free commemorative pint glass, are available from the box office on 08712 00 00 71, or online.
