Free watercolour exhibition in Carshalton
9:11am Thursday 9th August 2012 in Freetime By Sophia Sleigh, Reporter
A collection of original watercolours are coming to Carshalton for a free exhibition.
Anthony Lawman, a professional watercolour artist, from Sevenoaks, will bring 60 paintings to the borough for a week long display.
Lawman has painted traditional landscapes everywhere from the Himalayas to Spain and Carshalton ponds.
He says it usually takes him a day to complete a painting but he sometimes comes back to them.
He says: "Sometimes they turn out to be diabolical – sometimes they turn out to be a success.
"You don’t do it for money – I do it because I love painting."
Lawman has been a professional artist for 25 years and is the resident artist for the Children’s Trust in Tadworth. He does a lot of teaching work as the chair of Tadworth Art Group Lawman also paints in oils but watercolours are his passion.
Anthony Lawman Exhibition, Mine Creative Space and Art Gallery, 30-34 High Street, Carshalton, September 1 – 9, Mon-Fri 11am – 5.30pm, Sat and Sun 9am – 5.30pm, free.
