Around half of south east residents don’t have ‘emergency fund’ of at least three month’s salary.
Research by TopCashback reveals that more than three quarters (77 per cent) of employed South East residents currently put money aside for savings each month and around three quarters (74 per cent) have started a pension. Despite this however, around half (48 per cent) don’t have an ‘emergency fund’ of more than three month’s salary and more than half (52 per cent) admit to dipping into their savings for ‘splurges’. Other key findings revealed that: l Around a third of south east residents who do not have pensions say it’s because they can’t afford it l 19 per cent of employed south east residents who save, put aside £101-£200 a month l 85 per cent of south east residents who don’t save, say they worry about not doing so l More than half (55 per cent) of employed south east residents save into an ISA
