Treat: The choir in full flow at Hampton Court Palace

The choir full of singers from Richmond, Wimbledon, West Molesey, Thames Ditton, Kew and Twickenham hosted more than 250 school children from Croydon and east London on July 7.

The project is based upon Zadok the Priest, Handel's famous coronation piece for George II. As well as performing with musicians the children heard pieces played by world renowned ensemble The Sixteen.

Michele Price, director of development for the choral foundation, said: "For the choristers, this project involves them sharing their knowledge an expertise of sacred choral music with children who will be hearing this music for the first time.

"All of this in the palace where George II worshipped and for whom it was written."
