Surburbia uncovered

A television production company is searching for the "hostess with the mostest" living in Surbiton to take part in a new documentary revealing the secrets of the suburbs.

It wants to unravel what is behind the net-curtains and is searching in Surbiton for the answer.

A spokesman said: "We are looking to find the real people of the suburbs to tell us how they have rebelled against the conformity of suburbia.

We also want to hear from any other people who want to push the non-conformists out of their neighbourhood."

A recent study by the Civic Trust revealed the common perception of suburbia as "safe and green" is no longer always the reality.

The programme is exploring whether the suburbs are still boring or have become the "hot bed of dysfunction, secrets and sex" as portrayed in the popular TV drama Desperate Housewives.

Whether you regard yourself as an extraordinary character in an ordinary neighbourhood, are the most eco-friendly family you know in your street or have an unusual hobby, they are interested in hearing from you.
