Train services between Kingston and Teddington have been disrupted after a person was hit by a train.

The disruption, affecting Southwestern Railway services, is expected to last until 10am today (April 24).

All lines were closed as the incident was being dealt with by emergency services but it has since reopened.

In a message to commuters, South Western Rail confirmed it has caused a major disruption.

It has urged commuters to check before they travel and to use alternative routes if possible.

Replacement buses have been arranged to run which will call at all stations between Twickenham and Shepperton via Fulwell.

We have contacted British Transport Police for further information on the incident.
